What quality are Emberwynter designs?
Each piece in the collection is designed and hand-fabricated one at a time by the artist.
Diamonds used in the our designs are lab grown and sourced from established industry trusted suppliers. All diamonds are a minimum of I color/SI2 clarity and any stones over 1/2 ct. are accompanied by certification. Lab grown diamonds are chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds, and we encourage you to read more about them.
All gemstones in the collection are natural, mined gemstones sourced from trusted industry suppliers. While our preference is for untreated gemstones, some accent stones may undergo enhancement or treatment (most commonly heating) to enhance their stability. Metals in the collection include 925 sterling silver, 14k rose gold, and 14k yellow gold. The ‘wick’ inside Hiraeth pendants is cut from pure aluminum. All designs are solid and no platings are used. Sterling silver is naturally nickle free.

How do I care for Emberwynter designs?
All jewelry will eventually require maintenance.
With proper routine care, excessive maintenance can be minimized. A few rules to follow are:
Last on & first off.
Jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. Take special care to apply lotions, oils, and perfume before jewelry. Do not shower or sleep while wearing your jewelry.
The oils & solvents in perfumes, lotions, soaps, and cleansers can damage gemstones and accelerate tarnish.
Keep it dry.
Always avoid liquids of any kind unless absolutely necessary. The absolute best way to maintain your jewelry is with a dedicated polishing cloth. Any microfiber cloth with do, such as those for eyeglasses, but specially treated polishing cloths will also help restore shine and remove tarnish. Use them briefly every time you handle your jewelry and little else will be needed.
Stones such as Ammolite, Opal, and Pearl, should never get wet.
Only the best.
If a piece requires liquid cleaning, use only the cleanest water possible. Distilled water is readily available at most grocers and is free of minerals, additives, and impurities which could encourage tarnish or leave a film on gemstones. Do not use soap or chemicals of any kind as most contain abrasives or solvents which can scratch or damage metals and gemstones.
For the easiest, safest, and most thorough cleaning we highly recommend the use of an ultrasonic cleaner. These machines utilize high frequency soundwaves to remove dirt and debris from the hardest to reach areas of jewelry. Special, delicate additives are also available which increase the effectiveness of ultrasonic cleaners but will not damage your jewelry.
Personal space.
Just like people, jewelry benefits from a safe place it can call its own. Store your pieces in individual boxes or compartments to avoid tangled chains, scratching metals, or chipping stones.
When all else fails, placing each piece in a small cloth bag is a quick safeguard against damage.

What options can I choose for my chain?
No two collectors are alike.
To enable all to tailor each piece to their aesthetic, a wide range of lengths are available:
Traditional box chains in 16”, 18”, 20”, and 24” lengths.
Adjustable wheat chains in 24” and 30” lengths.
Black leather cord. (Supplied at 30”)
Traditional box chains are strong enough for daily wear yet subtle enough not to distract from smaller pendants. The array of lengths allows easy layering and can accommodate many body types.
The adjustable wheat chains feature a sliding clasp which can be easily repositioned, allowing unlimited lengths to be achieved. These chains are also substantially stronger and heavier both for peace of mind and affording a more striking look to any pendant with which they’re paired.
When making your selection, choose the length and style of chain you desire before adding to the cart. If unsure what to choose we strongly recommend the 24” adjustable wheat chain for maximum versatility and strength. To achieve a specific look, review our Chain Selection Guide.

What should I know about using essential oils?
Essential oils are concentrated volatile organic compounds extracted from plants via distillation, expression, or solvents.
Our fragrances contain no carrier oils and are intended for use in Hiraeth pendants, only. The porous aluminum plate inside each pendant will hold approximately three drops of essential oils which will evaporate over time, providing for up to a week of ambient, aromatic enjoyment.
Apply extra oil as needed when the fragrance begins to fade. Or switch to a new fragrance using one of the additional plates provided. Should the plates become coated with remnants of the oils we recommend the use of an ultrasonic cleaner for thorough removal.
Undiluted oils are not intended for direct application to the skin.

What shipping options do you offer?
Free ground shipping to the US on all orders!
All standard orders are shipped via USPS and are fully insured*. We strive to pack and ship all orders within 48 hours or contact you regarding unavoidable delays. (Please contact us regarding international shipping.)
Should you desire your selections to arrive more quickly you may choose expedited shipping at checkout for an additional fee. Expedited orders ship via UPS Next Day Air and are also fully insured.
*Be advised that for your security a signature is required for all deliveries over $500.

Do you stand behind your product?
While we do not offer a warranty, we do believe in reasonable accommodations.
Due to the nature of jewelry, uniqueness of hand-made items, and the rigors of life, we cannot guarantee your selections to remain in perfect condition. However, we encourage you to contact us should you experience an issue with your selection which is beyond the scope of regular wear and tear. Once we have discussed the nature of the issue we will make all reasonable efforts to restore your piece.
Examples of expected wear and tear:
Tarnish.
Scratches or loss of luster.
Rings no longer perfectly round.
Clasps becoming loose.
Issues not expected from regular wear and tear:
Stones breaking or falling out.
Clasps which no longer spring shut.

What is your return policy?
All sales are final.
At this time we do not offer returns. However, we do understand that honest mistakes can happen. Therefore, we encourage you to contact us should you experience any unexpected issues which cause you to feel dissatisfied upon receipt of your selection, such as:
An item damaged upon receipt.
An item with is not as described in size, style, features, or quality.
An item which unexpectedly does not fit.
Any other unforeseeable circumstance.
We will review the circumstance surrounding your dissatisfaction and make all reasonable efforts to correct the issue.
